How important is a ladder? Does your cleaner have one?

Do you have a cleaner? What sort of cleaning do they do for you? I will assume they are not a giant? The average roof height in the UK is just under 8ft tall (2.4m) and the majority of kitchen units, sit just below this. So my question is this? How important is a ladder? If your cleaner doesn’t use a ladder or steps of some description, are they carrying out a thorough clean?

This is most relevant if your property is having a deep clean or an end of tenancy clean, where a cleaning team has a single opportunity to carry out a fantastic job and not miss any spot, high or low – and low is as easy to miss as high. A little easier to bend down to but you really do have to get low and look from all angles, another reason I assume there are not too many giant cleaners out there!

Typical spots that we know are easily missed are tops of kitchen cupboards, high windows, ledges that stick out and other unusual areas that may be taller than the average. If a customer is requesting a deep clean it is more often than not because they cannot reach these dizzying heights or that they are not the usual places that are cleaned on a regular basis. We can all manage the bathroom, toilet and kitchen surfaces pretty easily.

We see every property we clean before we send a quote to you, this is partly because your version of clean and mine is very different and your two bedroom house may be some what larger than my two bedroom house! But, when we see your property we know what to expect and what equipment we may need to bring. Not every clean is the same and as such we should always be prepared to have all the tools we need to hand.

That said, just in case we have missed something or you ask us for a little more, we always carry extra bits and pieces including low steps and a larger ladder to ensure we get to all those spots that you expect to be cleaned.

Are you asking the right questions? Price is usually the first question and rightly so but in our experience value is more important and are you getting the value for money that you expect and deserve? While a cleaner carrying a ladder with them may not be the be all and end all of value, it may well be an indication how they approach the job and ultimately the value that you will get from them!

Wonderful Christmas Hamper Competition; Results are in!

Prior to Christmas we ran our hamper competition to find two lucky winners; the first an individual or family and the second a local business. The individual hamper is a cream tea for two and the office hamper is a larger hamper that colleagues are able to share in the new year! Both were supplied by the fantastic team at Devon Hampers.

Winners announced, Chiefs Style!

At the time of the draw we were lucky enough to be at an Exeter Chiefs training day and it was fantastic to see the team in training ready for their upcoming match – which our of interest they won, beating Tigers 29-10!! During a meet and greet with the players we were cheeky and asked if one of the players might be able to select a winner from those that had entered. Olly Woodburn was kind enough to agree to do this for us.

Here Olly is reading out the name of the lucky individual winner…

Well done to Sam Thomas who will enjoy a lovely cream tea for two, come the new year!

Here Olly is reading out the name of the lucky business winner…

Well done to Amy Woolfenden of Complete Build Partnerships who will be able to share a host of goodies with the team come the new year.

Thank you to our wonderful entrants and customers

We has such a lovely response to our competition and it is always sad to have to pick only two winners but everyone who entered has received a little thank you gift as well!

We wish everyone a very happy and prosperous 2024 and hope that the year brings all that everyone would like and works hard for. We have some exciting plans that we will of course share as the year starts and moves on!

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all!

Focus On The Unseen: More Awesome Attention To Detail

Introduction:

As I was cleaning a window channel at a client’s house the other day, my daughter who had joined me for the day, asked, “Why do you do that? No one will notice!” It was a simple comment that got me pondering over the essence of what we do at Evolve Cleaning. It’s about those details that often go unnoticed, yet they define our commitment to excellence. So let’s look at our services, the standard practices that set us apart, and why these seemingly small tasks matter more than we realize.

The Window Channel: A Microcosm of Excellence:

Opening a window in your new home should be a moment of excitement, not dismay. That’s why we clean window channels, a task that might go unnoticed when impeccably done. The irony is that when clean, these channels often escape attention – that’s the beauty of it. Our philosophy is simple: creating a space where even the unseen is cared for, making every corner a delight.

The ‘Unseen’ Champions:

Our attention to detail transcends window channels. Imagine the surprise of finding a pristine fridge or freezer, a washing machine with a sparkling detergent drawer, and a sink area devoid of hidden dirt (underneath and the plugs themselves). These aren’t just chores for us; they’re the unsung heroes of a spotless living space. Cleaning under sinks, addressing cat flaps, meticulously caring for window frames and channels, refreshing front doors inside and out, and even tending to the often-overlooked picture rails – these are the subtle acts of care that define our service.

Beyond the Surface: Uncovering the Essence:

Our approach isn’t just about cleanliness; it’s about crafting an experience. The uncommon, emotional, and powerful moments lie in those areas we so diligently clean – spaces that might not draw immediate attention but collectively contribute to the ambiance you’ll cherish and remember. It’s about the satisfaction of opening a door, knowing it’s as clean on the inside as it is on the outside. It’s the reassurance that every nook and cranny, every forgotten corner, has been tended to.

Conclusion: The Essence of Unseen Brilliance:

As I ponder my daughter’s question, I’m reminded that real attention to detail often lies in what’s unseen. It’s in the effort we put into the overlooked corners, the unnoticed areas, and the details that may escape immediate attention. At Evolve Cleaning, we’re not just cleaning; we’re crafting an environment where the unseen is as exquisite as the seen. So, the next time you open a window, peer into a fridge, or stroll through your front door, remember – it’s the ‘unseen’ care that defines the brilliance of your space.

It’s never just a quickie! Remarkably Revealing!

We are often asked to do just a quick clean, “don’t worry it just needs a quick once over!” It is never, nor should ever be a quick once over! It usually comes down to people’s perception of what clean is, how involved the cleaning process can be and a concern that it may cost more if too much time is taken. Rest assured if your cleaners really did just give it a once over, you would complain the job hadn’t been done.

So, let’s look at each of the above in turn, starting with what clean is. Surfaces can look clean and indeed may be disinfected, but what about behind the kettle, the top of the drawer or down the cracks. These are all areas that may appear clean but ask a friend to make a cuppa and what might they find lurking behind the kettle and in the cutlery drawer?!

How hard can the cleaning be, a quick wipe over and its done?! This is true and cleaning in general is not quite rocket science but it does require thought and consideration. Imagine that your brand-new stainless-steel hob or shiny kitchen cupboards are cleaned with the wrong type of product and cloth, suddenly they’re not looking so clean and those scratches will never come out!

It will be cheaper if its quick! Well, this may be true, but you should be paying for the value your cleaning team offers. If they do a speedy, rushed job, the chances are you that job will need repeating at further expense and even at the expense of the company’s reputation, all because it turns out that it wasn’t actually just a quickie!
